COACHES
Falfins’ dedicated coaches, with over 100 years combined experience, are committed to helping their athletes reach their goals and stretch beyond them. As a coaching staff, we believe in accountability and personal responsibility. As swimmers progress through our program, we encourage increasing ownership of their performance both in practice and in competition. The coaches and athletes are a team, working together to produce not only successful swimmers, but also successful human beings.
Former General Chairman, Colorado Swimming
Tristan Cross is a lifelong swimmer, Colorado native, and passionate coach. His coaching journey began in 2004 when Falfins Swimming hired him for his first coaching position, with the Dynamos and Blues. What started as a job quickly turned into a calling. After three and a half years with Falfins, Tristan was hired as the Head Age Group Coach at Cheyenne Mountain Aquatics. Over five successful years there, he continued to grow as a coach and leader.
Tristan later joined the PEAK Swim Team, where he served as Head Age Group Coach and helped grow the team from just 10 to more than 75 athletes. After three and a half great years at PEAK, Falfins brought him back and he’s been with the team ever since.
Over his 21 years of coaching, Tristan has worked alongside and learned from some of the top coaches in the sport. He’s excited to be with Falfins and is committed to helping take the team to new levels of success. As Head Coach, his focus is on supporting the development of the athletes, advancing the team, and contributing to the growth of Colorado Swimming.
Tristan has been a consistent presence at the elite level within the LSC. He has coached for Team Colorado eighteen times—nine times at the Mid-West All-Star Championship and nine times at the Western Zone Age Group Championship. In 2016, he was elected Age Group Vice-Chair for Colorado Swimming and re-elected for a second term in 2018. During that time, he served as Head Coach for Team Colorado at both the Mid-West All-Star and Western Zone meets.
In October 2019 and again in 2021, Tristan was elected General Chair of Colorado Swimming. In 2024, he was appointed to the USA Swimming National LSC Development Committee and elected Coaches Representative for Colorado Swimming. These leadership roles reflect his dedication to serving not just his team, but the broader swimming community in Colorado and across the countr
